Updating Your Website Menu in WordPress

Your site’s main menu helps visitors navigate. You can easily add, edit, or remove items from your navigation menu in WordPress.

Step 1 – Log in to WordPress

From WHMCS or /wp-admin, log in to your WordPress dashboard.

Step 2 – Go to the Menu Settings

In the left-hand WordPress menu, click Appearance → Menus.

Step 3 – Select a Menu to Edit

If your site has multiple menus (e.g., main navigation, footer), select the one you want to update from the dropdown.

Step 4 – Add New Menu Items

On the left-hand side, you can add:

  • Pages → recently created or all pages.

  • Posts → blog articles.

  • Custom Links → any URL.

  • Categories → blog categories.
Check the boxes and click Add to Menu.

Step 5 – Reorder Menu Items

Drag and drop items to rearrange them.
Indent an item slightly to make it a dropdown submenu under another item.

Step 6 – Remove Menu Items

Click the dropdown arrow on a menu item, then click Remove.

Step 7 – Save Your Menu

When finished, click Save Menu.

Additional Notes

  • Changes are instant once saved — refresh your site to check.

  • If your theme supports multiple menus, assign the menu to a location (e.g., Primary Menu).

  • For adding links to specific sections of a page, see [Creating Anchor Links for One-Page Scrolling].
