Uploading Files & Images to the Media Library in WordPress

The Media Library stores all the images, videos, PDFs, and files you use on your website. You can upload and manage them directly from your dashboard.


Step 1 – Log in to WordPress

From WHMCS or /wp-admin, log in to your WordPress dashboard.


Step 2 – Go to the Media Library

In the left-hand menu, click Media → Library.
Here you’ll see all existing files.


Step 3 – Add New Files

Click the Add New button at the top of the screen.
Drag and drop files from your computer, or click Select Files to upload manually.


Step 4 – Edit File Details (Optional)

Click on a file to open its details.
You can update:

  • Title

  • Alt Text (for accessibility and SEO)

  • Caption

  • Description


Step 5 – Use Files in Divi or Posts

Once uploaded, files can be inserted into:

  • Pages (via Divi modules like Image, Video, or Gallery).

  • Blog posts.

  • Contact forms or buttons (for PDFs and downloads).


Additional Notes

  • WordPress supports JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, PDF, MP4, MP3, and more.

  • File size limits depend on your hosting setup.

  • Always add alt text for accessibility and better search rankings.
