Creating & Managing Blog Posts in WordPress

Keeping your site updated with blog posts helps with SEO and keeps visitors engaged. Here’s how to create, edit, and organise posts.

Step 1 – Log in to WordPress

From WHMCS or /wp-admin, log in to your WordPress dashboard.

Step 2 – Go to Posts

In the left-hand WordPress menu, click Posts → All Posts to see existing posts, or Posts → Add New to create a new one.

Step 3 – Add a New Post

Click Add New. Enter your:

  • Title (appears at the top of the post and in search engines).

  • Content (use Divi or the WordPress block editor).

Step 4 – Organise with Categories & Tags

On the right-hand sidebar:

  • Categories → group posts by topic.

  • Tags → add keywords for more detail.

Step 5 – Add a Featured Image

Scroll down and click Set Featured Image.
This image shows on your blog roll and social shares.

Step 6 – Publish or Save Draft

  • Publish → make the post live immediately.

  • Save Draft → keep working on it before going live.

Step 7 – Manage Existing Posts

From All Posts, hover over a post to:

  • Edit → update content.

  • Quick Edit → change categories/tags.

  • Trash → remove a post.

Additional Notes

  • Use clear headings (H1, H2, H3) inside posts.
